Honest Matt is a veteran of the Portland bar scene, playing music throughout the early 2000s in places like the Green Room, Slabtown, and the Bitter End. He played rhythm guitar in and was lead singer for the Portland-based band Mystic Canyon for 10 years, exploring roots and Americana music and writing his own tunes.

Matt now spends his time in Costa Rica writing, singing and enjoying life. He loves the sound of the acoustic guitar and — whether in Oregon or Costa Rica — he’s always happy to play a tune by the campfire with friends and a bottle of whiskey, or greet the early morning hours with a song and a cup a coffee.
