Hustle and Drone started in February, 2012 when keyboardist Ryan Neighbors left Portugal. the man to pursue his own songwriting. He teamed up with long time friend Kirk Ohnstad and began recording and writing immediately. Hustle and Drone released its debut, self-titled EP in July, 2012, spent the next few months playing shows and even spent a month in Europe in March 2013 with The Steaming Satellites. After 60 demos and many phone calls, the band decided to record with producer Sonny DiPerri, this was the beginning of HOLYLAND. The band spent time at beach houses and their basement in Portland in order to properly craft this record. In the summer of 2013, Kirk made his departure from the group, this brought in bassist Andy Black and made live member Ryan Moore’s roll much more significant. The band is now a proper trio and is very active in Portland’s local music scene. Together, the trio craft dark and catchy, beat heavy, synth driven, fuzzed out electronic rock music. They just wrapped up a music video for their lead single “The Glow” which was filmed at the MODA Center in Portland, OR. Being on an NBA Playoff court was a childhood dream come true. HOLYLAND was released September 2nd, 2014.
