Synchronicity Frequency has been creating and performing live compositions throughout the greater West Coast underground, experimental electronic music and performance scenes since 1999. Ryan Olson deploys his skills as a sound engineer, combined with the musicianship if a classical guitarist, into sonic collages of rhythm and phrase, imbibing an entire world within musical expression. Created in Portland, Oregon, the project has always performed as a live PA, mixing hardware and controller and instrument, giving each performance unique elements and experiences. Drawing from an entire history of music, both electronic and acoustic, massive soundbeds and heavy rhythms have pulsed with the Cascasdian forest throughout the years at AMF, flying the Pan!Zen Intntl. flag. Co- conspirators have included international throat singer, Soriah, composing for Mizu Desierto’s “Water in the Desert Festival”, Noah Mickens of Batty’s Hippodrome and Wanderlust Circus, Lana Guerra of Power Circus. Sharing the stage with such masterminds as Blixa Bargeld of Einsterzende Neubauten, heavy industrial pioneers Skinny Puppy and a live colloboration with Download, Synchronicity Frequency has been a formidable component of experimental electronic music, always pushing the ear and mind into unique realms of the dark psychedelic dance music, post-industrial tribal bass and sound design.
This is an ongoing journey exploring the conversation within expression combined with cutting edge sonics. The listener is invited to release themselves unto the macrocosm of frequency based communication, both auditory and that which calls from within.
